Intro to Our Business - Warisan Melayu

Assalamualaikum~

As mentioned above, this blog is made only for the purpose of our Marketing Principles ASSIGNMENT. No real business established!

For this first post, we will introduce the background of our business.

INTRODUCTION!!

First of all, the name of our business is called Warisan Melayu or Malay Heritage. Our business is established to supply our products to all of our potential customers especially the Malays. We will be focusing on supplying some of the products of Malay Traditional Kuih. Our company will not become reality without these five important members of the company which are Miss Syazwani Nizam, Miss Aina Bahiah Samsudin, Miss Izzah Nadzirah Aziz Azhar, Miss Lim Yasira and Miss Naqibah Nazlee. We ourselves will be the one to manage and operate this business from dealing with our own suppliers for the materials to dealing with the customers. 

 This business started from early this October. The operation of Warisan Melayu started from 1st October 2018 and still in operate till now. This business does not have any physical location for the customers to enjoy our products. Warisan Melayu only provide a warehouse for the production of the products in which is located in Gombak. The place is also used as the factory and place to keep the raw materials. Other than that, the customers especially that live in Gombak are also welcomed to come for their products that they ordered by their own. 

 The decision of opening up this business is due to the awareness of us about the Malay traditional kuih lack of supplies for the high demand in the market. Even though it is without a doubt that this product is everywhere, however what about for a big size demand? There may be many small stalls selling this product but it is hard to find the suppliers that willing to accept big size demand. 
Thus, Warisan Melayu come up with the solution to establish this business to balance the supply and demand in the market for Malay traditional kuih.

Competitors Analysis

             By conducting a competitor analysis, we can identify our competitors’ strengths and weaknesses. This is important for start-up company like us as we can plan ahead on what are the things that can make our company special from others. In this competitor analysis, we will talk about our competitor’s product, service, location, pricing and customers.             There are a lot of competitors selling kuih/snacks like us. However, we will focus on one specific shop that is quite well known in Malaysia. The shop is called Nyonya Colors. Nyonya Colors specializes in premium homemade quality Nyonya Kueh and delights. They aim to provide customers with the highest quality and tasty Nyonya Kueh. Assalamualaikum~         In Malaysia specifically for Malays, there are many different types of kuih can be found which include the savoury type and sweet type of kuih. The methods used also different for different kuih such as fried and steam method that is commonly used in the making of the Malay traditional kuih. In addition, most of these kuih is suitable for most of the time including breakfast, as dessert, during tea time and supper at night.     For today's post, we will introduce 5 of our products in this business which include kuih seri muka, bahulu, ketayap, buah rotan and onde-onde. KUIH SERI MUKA Kuih Seri Muka is also one of the Malay Traditional Kuih that are popular and favored by most Malays. Even from the picture above, it is already known that this kuih is basically made in two colours which are green and white. This kuih is made using tray with any shape.
